Missouri Electronic Transcript Update January 2010

As we end 2009, the State of Missouri has made some great progress toward the exchange of Electronic Transcripts.  The MACRAO E-Transcript Summit and sessions presented at the Annual Conference provided tools and opportunities to dialog and develop partnerships, which brings us to this update:

-The following institutions are registered with the SPEEDE Server:  University of Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri State University, Metropolitan Community College- Kansas City, and all four University of Missouri campuses- MU, UMKC, UMSL, and MST.

-MCC and UM System have completed steps 1-7 of the “E-Transcript Start-up Checklist” and are in the final stages of completing steps 8-11.  Our goal is to begin doing test trades (step 12) by the end of January 2010.

-Dawn Hatterman and Kathy Hale from MCC will be presenting “Under Construction- Exploring the Benefits of and the Progress Toward Implementing Electronic Transcripts between Missouri Colleges and Universities”  at the COTA Conference February 12th.

Summit Mission: Bring together Registrars/Enrollment Managers and campus Information Technology (IT) professionals from across the state to determine what it will take to implement electronic transcripts.  

Presenter:  Clare Smith-Larson is the SPEEDE/Project EASIER Coordinator, a member of the AACRAO SPEEDE Committee 2008-2009 and a Systems Support Specialist for the Office of the Registrar at Iowa State University.  

Summit Format:  Topic introduction by Clare Smith-Larson followed by Round Table discussions.  This is an opportunity for Registrar/Enrollment Managers to better understand the IT language and to facilitate discussions between the Registrars/Enrollment Managers and campus IT professionals.  Using the new AACRAO publication, Electronic Data Exchange Primer (co-authored by Clare Smith-Larson) as a workbook, we will address such topics as:

A follow-up to this Summit will be offered at the MACRAO Annual Conference, October 25-27 (Just another great reason to join MACRAO!)

Registration Details: All Missouri post-secondary institutions are welcome.  Registration is FREE for 2009-2010 MACRAO Institutional Members and $50 for non-member institutions* (which covers all attendees). 

* The $100 MACRAO Institutional Member fee entitles an unlimited number of your campus colleagues to attend the MACRAO Annual Conference at the member rate as well as workshops like this for free!)
