Proposal to Add a Web Manager to the Executive Committee

MACRAO Web Manager Position Description

The MACRAO Web Manager is appointed by the Executive Committee and serves on the board as an ex-officio member. This position is appointed for a two year term; multiple terms are allowed. New appointees should normally be chosen from Communication Committee members to allow for adequate transition & training.

The duties of the Web Manager require an understanding of and some experience and/or training in the art of web page creation and maintenance which includes the understanding of technology, layout, graphics, managing files across the network, and coding.

Specific duties include the following:

 

Facilitating and coordinating the exchange of information on committee & Executive Committee activities to the membership via the website.

 

 

 

Maintaining close contact with the Executive Board in order to prepare updates to the website.

 

 

 

Continually reviewing current technology for possible website improvements.

 

 

 

Recommending a budget for website operation and maintenance to the Executive Committee.

 

 

 

Serving as a member of the Communications Committee.

 

 

 

Attending all Executive Committee meetings and the annual meeting.

To accomodate the creation of the web manager position, the Bi-Laws must be amended. Proposal for the amendment of the Bi-Laws can be found in the October issue of the Newsletter
