The Southeast Missouri State University Office of Admissions applies a student-centered approach to its work with prospective students. The admissions program is integral to the University’s enrollment management efforts and is responsible for developing new student and transfer enrollment to meet institutional enrollment goals.

The successful candidate will become part of a highly motivated, energetic recruitment/admissions team. The position will provide leadership for the University’s new student recruitment initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities (within an assigned area/territory)
• Guides/manages recruitment process for new students
• Manages/maintains computer database of student records
• Performs tele-counseling and public speaking
• Plans special events
• Travels a minimum of 16 weeks annually
• Represents the University at on-campus and off-campus events at a minimum of 12 weekends annually

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (Summer 2020 graduates will be considered.)
• Strong evidence of computer skills including word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to both large and small groups
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse populations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel extensively with or without accommodations and work alternate work schedules including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of publications and display materials with or without accommodations
• Possess a valid state driver’s license
• Demonstrates innovative approaches in problem solving
• Exercises sound judgment
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
• Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
