Submit your Session proposal for the MACRAO 90^th Annual Conference

Date of First Consideration is July 20, 2026.
The Session Proposal form will close by August 1, 2026.

The MACRAO Conference Planning Committee is excited to announce the MACRAO 2026 Annual Conference Call for Proposals is now live! Volunteering to present at the annual conference is a great way to participate in MACRAO.

There are a variety of different presentation styles you could considering submitting including:

• Process/system showcase: What’s something new you are doing on your campus or something you do well that others may be interested in learning about?
• Panel: Find a topic that you think the membership may be interested in discussing and put together a team to lead a discussion and/or presentation.
• New Topics: Do you have that topic you are hoping there is a session for but it has not offered recently? Put yourself out there (or encourage a colleague) to create a presentation. Others may have the same interest.

The MACRAO community have a diverse range of professional responsibilities and interests, so it is important that our presentations are diverse as well so that we are able to offer sessions of interest to all of your MACRAO colleagues.

If you are new to presenting at MACRAO, here are a few basics to know about presenting:

• Sessions are typically scheduled for about 45-50 minutes.
• A presentation screen and projector is provided. Presenters typically bring their own laptops to use.
• Presentation software such as PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, and Google Slides are often used by presenters, but are not required. MACRAO will provide a forum to share a PDF of your presentation with the membership post-conference.
• There are typically three different presentations offered during each programming session so that the membership has ample choices to select a presentation that best fits their interests.

It’s not necessary to have all of the details of your proposed presentation put together in order to submit your proposal. Using the MACRAO 2026 session proposal form, all you need to do right now is submit your contact information, the conference tracks (out of choices provided) that best fits your session, a session title, a brief description about what you will present, and any special technology needs or other accommodations.

The proposal is now live. The MACRAO Conference Planning Committee encourages you to submit early. This will enable us to monitor the collection of proposals to ensure we are receiving a wide variety of session proposals. The Conference Planning Committee will begin reviewing proposals for acceptance and scheduling purposes with priority to those received prior to July 20, 2026. The proposal submission form will remain open past that until all sessions are finalized but will be open no later than August 1, 2026 so that we can finalize our schedule and report out programming offerings to the MACRAO membership in advance of the annual conference. If you submit a proposal, you will receive confirmation whether the proposal was accepted for this year’s conference.
