ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience. The Office of the Registrar (URO) leads a hub of critical services for students, faculty, and staff, including student an academic record keeping, a conflict free academic schedule, registration, graduation, data reporting and state and federal compliance to support the University's educational programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position oversees supporting existing computer applications and processes the URO's core reporting business functions through both ad hoc queries and the development of permanent, custom reports using enterprise reporting solutions. This position provides both functional and technical expertise to other teams in the URO and other entities within USF. Protects confidential student and institutional data in accordance with federal, State, and university guidelines. Provides input on strategic planning, enrollment management, emergency preparedness, State and federal compliance, core work enhancement, performance management, student record and data management and statistical analysis, presentation, reporting, and outcome assessment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provisions access to student information system, document imaging system roles controlled by the URO; manages entire provisioning process for these systems plus Degree Works, with a team that manages and responds to queries from end users seeking new or updated system access to complete their professional duties.

In partnership with the Associate University Registrar, assists in development of new system functionality, upgrades, system modifications, day-to-day problem analysis, issue tracking, and resolution for area of responsibility. Assists in testing the student information system and student self-service functionality in advance of upgrades. Collaborates with staff in IT, Admissions, Student Financial Services and Financial Aid to research and recommend actions to resolve issues related to student academic records, policies, and procedures.

Oversees third-party data requests, working directly with internal and external stakeholders to provide date in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.

Establishes goals, prioritizes, plans, and reviews the work of direct report(s). Provides a high level of service through new staff on-boarding and continuous development and training. Reduces costs and duplication of efforts where possible. Helps maintain the URO task calendar and wiki and is responsible for

identifying professional development and training opportunities for team.

Responsible for ensuring confidentiality of student data. Performs all work with confidential and sensitive student information under observance of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other Federal and State guidelines. Informs the individuals working with confidential student information about legal restrictions, privileges, and ethical considerations surrounding its use. Supports the mission of Student Success, Enrollment Planning and Management, and the URO with other duties as assigned. Regularly updates Associate University Registrar on status of projects, highlighting important issues and areas of concern.

Serves on institutional committees at the discretion of supervisor and the University Registrar.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of four years related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED:

This position requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of four years related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience in a high volume, customer service oriented, and academic institution. Outstanding technology and communication skills required. Leadership skills are essential to fulfill both internal and external data reporting needs, data requests, and provisioning.
